This is a 25 year old lady who was concerned with the hump on her nose. Also, she was full between the lower part of her nose and the her lip. The nose also projected too far anteriorly. She underwent a rhinoplasty. She now has a nice slope to the nose. I like to have the tip of the nose more prominent than the dorsum of the nose but I do not like a large ski slope in a nose because it looks unnatural. Also, by pushing the tip of the nose back some, it made her nose look small and not projecting as much.
This procedure is done through outpatient surgery.

This is a healthy young lady who suffered some nasal trauma as a child. She had some airway issues and was unhappy with the appearance of her nose specifically the dorsal hump, width of the nose, and the plunging tip. She underwent an open septorhinoplasty. She had a good deal of cartilage grafting to get a better more projecting tip. She had cartilaginous spreader grafts used to better shape the dorsal and open up the nasal vestibule for better breathing. The post op pictures are done about two months from her surgery. She has gotten a very nice result. Her breathing is slightly improved. The contour is much more feminine.

This is a 50ishYO who wished some improvement in the nose. She really had no functional problems with the nose. She did not like the dorsal hump. She felt like the lobule was too big. She also felt like her nose was too wide. She had a plunging tip relative to the dorsum which worsened when she smiled. She had some mild asymmetry between the left and right. She underwent an open septorhinoplasty. I used septal cartilage grafts to help better define the tip of the nose and the middle vault of the nose. She had suturing of the tip to facilitate more projection and shaping. Post op pictures are two months. She has gotten a very nice result. She is extremely pleased.

This is a young lady that has a very crooked nose with a small dorsal hump and fullness just above the lip area of the nose. This area is called a columella. It tends to hang and be prominent in that area. She underwent a rhinoplasty. As you see, the nose is much straighter and now has a gentle slope. We have gotten the fullness out of the lower part of the nose which is just above the lip.

This is a lady that has had a nose that appears to be protruding too much in front of her face and also has a small dorsal hump. She has a very wide tip to the nose. She underwent a rhinoplasty to decrease the projection of the nose so that it fit her face better. In the frontal view her nose looks more defined. All in all, she got a really nice result.

This is a middle aged gentleman who had no trauma to his nose but wished some improvement in the contour specifically and most importantly the dorsal hump. He had a dorsal hump consisting of 50/50 bone and cartilage. He had a deep crease at the junction of the nose with the forehead between the eyes and tip that was lower than the profile of the nose. He underwent an open rhinoplasty with contouring of the dorsum of the nose to make it straighter and get rid of the hump. The deep crease at the junction of the nose with the forehead was grafted with cartilage and suturing. Cartilage grafts were done to bring the tip of the nose out from the face and make it more symmetrical and contoured. He is shown post operatively two months out from his surgery. With time he will get more definition of the tip of the nose. The dorsal contour is much improved. He Photos submitted by Dr. Owen

This is a young lady that had a long-standing dissatisfaction with the appearance of her nose. Her biggest issues were the bulbous tip which plunged when she smiled. She underwent an open rhinoplasty and had trimming of the cartilages that involved the contour of the tip. She had extensive suturing of the remaining cartilage as well as cartilage grafts. She required some trimming of the width of the ala. The contour is much improved and more feminine. The tip does not plunge when she smiles. She has gotten a nice result from her surgery. The post op photographs are two months out and this will continue to improve over the next year.

This is a healthy teenager who in grade school had multiple traumatic episodes to the nose. The nose deviated to the left off the midline with airway obstructive symptoms on the left and an obvious dorsal hump. She also had a large turbinate as a result of allergies. The turbinate and concha bullosa was addressed by Dr. Gannon, ENT. Once that was addressed, she was returned to the operating room and underwent a septorhinoplasty with a spreader graft to reconstruct the internal valve on the left. She had removal of the dorsal hump and suturing and cartilage grafts to improve the contour of the tip. This straightened the nose and improved the contour of the tip and completely resolved her obstructive symptoms. She is shown preoperatively and two months post op. The definition of the tip will continue to improve. All in all, she got a really nice result.
