Revision Breast Augmentation
Serving Dothan, Alabama and Panama City, Florida areas
Most women who get breast augmentation with a board-certified plastic surgeon get results they feel happy with. However, some women do not get the results they desire. This may be due to a lack of skill on the part of the surgeon or sometimes factors beyond the control of any doctor. Correcting a less than optimal surgical result is even harder than getting good results from primary breast augmentation, and you should use extra care in selecting your revision breast augmentation surgeon.
Dr. Charles Feagin and Dr. William Owen are both experienced breast augmentation revision surgeons and can correct your previous results to help you get the best possible results from your breast augmentations. To talk to our board certified plastic surgeons, please schedule a consultation at the Feagin & Owen Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Center today.
Reasons for Breast Augmentation Revision
In general, the main reason for breast augmentation revision is just that the breasts do not look the way you want them to look. Some problems with the appearance may include:
- Implants too low or too high
- Implants too close or too far apart
- Implants that are too big or too small
- Breast asymmetry
- Implants that are visible and may be rippled
- Capsular contracture, leading to firm, deformed, or painful breasts
- Implants rupture
- The breast tissue is starting to sag and the implant appears to high
- Both the implant and the breast tissue appear too low.
All the above problems and many others can be corrected with breast augmentation revision surgery. In most cases, the problem can be revised in a single surgery. This is true of all surgeries where the problem is related to the breast implants themselves. Sometimes, though, your correction may require two surgeries. First, your implants will be removed and your tissues allowed to heal. Then new pockets will be created and new implants will be inserted. This two-step procedure is necessary for some problems with implant position.
