Abdominoplasty (Individual Result May Vary)
This is a healthy woman who had prior liposuction on her abdomen. This liposuction helped but did not address the stretched out abdominal musculature or the loose skin. The excess weight and skin of the lower abdomen had pushed her female genitalia in a too low position. In addition, she had prominent fat collections in her flanks and flattening of her buttock contour. She was carried to the operating room. She was treated preoperatively with Lovenox to minimize the chance of blood clots and pulmonary embolus. She underwent liposuction of her abdomen and flanks with fat injection into the buttocks and an abdominoplasty. The abdominoplasty tightened the abdominal muscles and recreated the contours of a more youthful abdomen. The surgery elevated her mons pubis and created a more uplifted and triangular shaped youthful appearance. The buttock contour is more rounded with more projection situated by the more youthful and feminine concavity of the flanks. Her profile when sitting eliminated the fat rolls that piled up across her waist.
She looks and feels better. Her clothes fit better and she is now able to wear more flattering clothing.
This patient wishes some improvement in her abdominal contour, specifically her abdomen and her flanks. She did not like the roll of skin which extended across her lap when she sat and wanted more contouring of her bottom. She had liposuction of her flanks and an abdominoplasty. The liposuction of her flanks, in addition to creating a more concave contour in the flank, actually removed some of the fat rolls up on her back and gave more contour projection to her buttocks. This result was obtained without fat grafting to the buttocks in her and in certain patients. Her abdomen had suctioning of the deep subcutaneous fat and repair of the loose abdominal wall. This nicely flattened her abdominal contour. Suctioning restored some of the more youthful contours in the midline. The low incision elevates and triangulates the mons, which give a more youthful appearance. She has lost inches in her waist. She has a more feminine contour. The scar is low and can be hidden by intimate apparel.
